TV: What I'm looking forward to.

I'm pretty excited that the Sarah Connor Chronicles didn't get canceled last season, and I've watched the first two episodes of the new season. I really like this show. I have always liked the scifi of Terminators, and I generally don't even like time travel movies (though there are exceptions other than the Terminator movies, like Primer for example). I guess it's no surprise that I like Terminators since, after all, I love all things robot.

I watched the first episode of the new show on fox, Fringe. It seems like it might be pretty good. It feels very X-Files-y, so I'm looking forward to seeing where the show goes. I haven't really made up my mind about it. I'll definitely be talking more about TV in the upcoming weeks and months.

I'm also looking forward to new episodes of The Big Bang Theory, How I Met Your Mother, The Office, 30 Rock, Pushing Daisies and some others I can't think of right now.

I've officially abandoned Heroes. They completely lost me in Season 2, and I won't watch again unless someone tells me that Season 3 of Heroes is the best thing on TV right now. I'm not holding my breath, though.

I'm going to post more about what I'm watching when the fall season kicks into high gear.

Feel free to leave in the comments what you're looking forward to, or what you are refusing to watch.

US Men's soccer eliminated from Bejing.

I really hope that the title of this blog doesn't ruin the outcome of the game for anyone interested in it. I was a person interested in the US men's soccer game of Day 5, so I went online to view the game. NBC tells us that if we miss anything on TV, or are interested in any event the videos are online. I go online. Not knowing the outcome of the soccer game, but when I get to the video that I MUST click to view the title of the game is the same as my blog title. Now, I don't know if I am being clear enough about this. I went online to view a game which I requires that I click a link to see, and the link itself gives away the end of the match. Isn't that a bit like Netflix listing The Sixth Sense as "Bruce Willis is dead the whole movie?"

Stuff Day

Stuff is awesome. This morning I awoke with my Mom hand delivering my new phone. It's a Samsung A737. When I first tried it, I thought that there was a problem with the phone. It turned out, embarrassingly, that I just put the SIM card in backwards. Oops. Anyway, it does in fact work fine, and I like it so far. It's a slider with a 1.3MP camera (not that I use the camera very often). It has pretty good call quality and since it was a free upgrade from AT&T I can't complain about the price. Well, I suppose it did cost be $18 for the "upgrade fee," but since everyone gets ripped off by the upgrade fee I feel like it's a deal to get a free phone.

Later in the day I received my monstrous 24" monitor. Yeah. I practically stole it for $225. I had a 21" CRT monitor before this and because I didn't want to get a screen that was smaller I was holding out for a 24" LCD. It's not smaller, I can tell you that. It's about a 3/4" bigger vertically and 5" wider. I set my screen resolution to 1900x1200 and it looks great. I haven't completely decided whether I will leave this resolution or step it down to something a little more moderate. Most web pages don't even fit across it, and I leave my list of bookmarks open on the left in Firefox. Wikipedia, however, never looked so good. At first I wasn't sure if I would like having a widescreen display, but now that I have it I like it a lot. I like that I don't need to worry about having enough room to display information within columns on web pages or in my Zune software, for instance. The only thing that don't really like is that it gives off a lot of heat from the screen itself.

All in all, I'm pretty pleased with both new gadgets I got today. Let's just hope I win this Y The Last Man bid on ebay. Fingers crossed.

I've got competition.

My very own sister thinks that she can just create a blog on the free internet.
She did.
It's pretty good so far.
If you are interested it is at cec521.blogspot.com.

Can you guess where I'm going?

Raaaaa-ra-roller, roller coaster, roller coasting minutes awa-ay.

Roller CoastER! Roller CoastER! Have some fun!

Click,click,click,click,click,click,aaaaaahhhhhhhhh!!

I can tell you this:
It's not Wachusett or Water Country, and it's not Five Flags.

It's one better.
But not better than this:
Zombie

I still haven't written about my trip to China, and it may not happen unless I feel particularly motivated. I've been thinking about this for some time, and I think that my blog needs a re-imagining. I have been pressuring myself to write these long well thought out blogs, but I think my blog needs more variety and less thinking. So I've decided to try to write in more frequent snack-sized sections.

For today, though I'm just going to leave with this link:
Worst Contestant
To save time, just fast forward to when she starts to write, but be sure to finish it. Bob is pretty funny at the end. "You've used the 1 twice Joy!!"

I found this a few days ago by typing "worst" into youtube, inspired by this:

Worst Hunter

I love the sigh at the end. That's my favorite part.

Returned From My 1/2-Magellan Trip

I have returned from my trip half way around the world to China. I visited Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Hong Kong. I'll be working on a new blog entry, but until then I have added photos of my trip below. Check them out. There are not a lot of photos of people, but some nice ones of the cities, skylines and zoo animals. Clicking any photo should bring you to the high-res photo gallery.

This aggression will not stand.

At approximately 11:50pm on April 3, 2008, I was texted about the worst terrorist attack in my blog's history. It was promptly removed. But the message can be viewed as a comment below. I am working on an upcoming piece and I forgot to close the window. I guess one can never be too careful. Whoever this "Kevin" is, he must get his own blog or leave comments if he wishes to express himself.
